    TITLE:                          National Sales Manager

    REPORTS TO:              General Manager and VP Sales

     

    GENERAL FUNCTION

     

    Under General direction of the General Manager, execution of all Sales plans and activities for AB&I.

     

    DUTIES

     

    • Help fulfill AB&I’s and the McWane Plumbing Group’s strategic goals and plans.
    • Grow AB&I’s distribution nationally, targeting import and Charlotte distributors only.
    • Help achieve AB&I’s profitability goals.

     

      • Maintain and enhance relationships with top executives of Key Distributors and industry leaders.
    • Keep General Manager and aware of all significant market conditions.
    • Recommend market-pricing changes.
    • Recommend changes required to maintain customers’ loyalty and to grow market share.
    • Write annual national sales budget and KPI’s.
    • Write annual national Business Plan to meet budget and KPI’s.
    • Track and report market share in region annually.

     

      • Create AB&I brand identity separate from wholesaler.
      • Create AB&I brand loyalty at the distributor and contractor levels.
      • Visit key customers and attend important trade events on a frequency outlined in the Business Plan.
    • Manage, evaluate, coach and course correct Regional Sales Managers’ performance and activities to meet responsibilities, AB&I goals and KPI’s.
    • Insure that you and those persons under your management conduct business in an ethical, legal and professional manner always.

     

    • Manage Regional Sales Managers to:
        • Help fulfill AB&I’s and the McWane Plumbing Group’s strategic goals and plans.
        • Grow AB&I’s distribution nationally, targeting import and Charlotte distributors only.
        • Help achieve AB&I’s profitability goals.
        • Maintain and enhance relationships with top executives of Key Distributors and industry leaders.
    • Meet customer’s needs (distributors, contractors, engineers, and inspectors).
    • Provide Tech Services with support of job info and facilitate Tech services activity in your region.

     

        • Provide quality intel re: competition, sales strategy, price – domestic and import
    • Communicate pricing changes with manufacturer’s reps, and customers.
    • Manage, evaluate, coach and course correct manufacturer’s rep’s performance and activities to meet responsibilities, goals and KPI’s.

     

      • Create AB&I brand loyalty at the distributor and contractor levels.

    REQUIREMENTS

     

    • A bachelors’ degree in marketing or business work, experience equivalent of either, along with extensive experience in product distribution is required.

     

      • 6-8 years’ experience in related industries dealing with the distribution of products and the familiarity with product management.
      • Job requires an individual who is a self starter.
      • Must have good communication, management and people skills.
      • Under general direction of the General Manager, must manage the sales team and make decisions that are consistent with guidelines set by the General Manager.
    • Great emphasis must be placed by this individual on verification of competitive market reports from the field before passing them on to the General Manager.

     

      • Must treat confidential matters professionally.
    • Must be cognizant of changing markets and conditions.
    • Must be the eyes and ears of the company to help insure that the company maintains a market-driven perspective.

     

    • Position requires extensive travel to maintain interface with key distributors, contractors, engineers and field sales personnel.
