    Primary Purpose of the position


    The IT Infrastructure Support Specialist provides professional application support services to business areas across the company. Primary subject matter expert in multiple environments (service, support and projects) and is the point of contact with direct interface to team members

    Provide expertise for IT infrastructure (e.g. servers, networks, desktops, printers), application infrastructure (e.g. network security, Active Directory, SQL databases, etc.) and related services in accordance with contractually established terms and conditions and established technical standards. Along with technical input, solutions, and recommendations.


    Provides IT infrastructure and/or application infrastructure lifecycle technical support, including planning, project management, installation, on-going management/monitoring troubleshooting, and de-installation, following operational policies & processes compliant with industry standards (ITIL). Works with the key customers and/or internal businesses representatives to retain customers and build the business.


    Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives. Assist the IT infrastructure team in addressing hardware/software issues on systems. Review system logs on critical servers regularly and address system generated errors and warnings immediately to ensure minimum downtimes and disruption to users. Regularly review security patches and Operating System service packs on all servers and install the latest security patches/service packs periodically. Provide Level - 2 support to all users. Assist in updating documented guidelines and procedures and also ensure that the documentation reflects any/all procedural changes.


    Perform system health checks of core infrastructure systems as needed. Maintains and checks backups of all critical infrastructure systems. Manage and in some cases assist in IT projects assigned by the Head - IT Infrastructure and ensure that objectives of all assigned projects are met.


    Serves as main contact to facilitate 3rd party vendor execution of software updates/upgrades









    Job Requirements


    Minimum education required of the position.  (Indicate required and preferred, if applicable.)

    Minimum Required:



    Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Computer Science or related technical field.


    Minimum experience required of the position. (Indicate type and years.)

    Minimum Required:

    5 years working with Microsoft technologies


    3-5 years working with SQL databases. 3-5 years working with VMware


    Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position. (Indicate required and preferred, if applicable.)

         Minimum of 5 years of experience installing and maintaining Windows based servers, desktops, laptops
    E    (including Windows server 2008 R2 or newer, Windows 7 Pro and Windows 10 Pro)
          Knowledge and some practical experience in implementing Server Virtualization products (e.g. VMware).
    K   Technical experience and some background in implementing Network products such routers and switches.
         Technical experience in administering SAN and NAS technologies.
    K   Knowledge and experience installing and maintaining SQL databases
          Knowledge and experience with backup technologies and methods
          Experience installing and troubleshooting network printers
    E    Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite/Applications. Experience with Microsoft’s Cloud offerings (e.g. O365)
         Good oral and written communication skills.

    Sitting for extended periods of time.
    Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components.
    Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
